The Hawaiian Civic Club of Wahiawā Nonprofit is comprised of those family members connected to and centered at the piko, Kūkaniloko. This to include those members who genealogically trace their genesis to the land of our ancestors, ke aupuni o Hawaii nei ko Hawaii paeaina. We now have a global community of members and the Friends of Kūkaniloko. Our membership categories are:
Lālā ‘ōiwi... Those members of Hawaiian ancestry and related to the Wahiawā proper.
Lālā ho‘okama... Any non-Hawaiian spouse of a member or non-Hawaiian person of the global community may become a member of this Civic Club by paying the annual dues of the Civic Club. However, such member shall not have any voting privileges, or hold any office.
Lālā kūpuna... Those members who were present at the first organizational meeting on November 10, 1960, shall be declared Charter Members. No annual Civic Club dues shall be required from Charter Members. Mahalo ia to our Founding Members Kupuna Roselia Poepoe, Kupuna Roselani Hall, and Kupuna Bernard Rodrigues who are the last three living nā lālā kupuna of 60 years.
Lālā hoʻohanohano... Any non-Hawaiian person from the community who has expressed a deep and sincere desire to affiliate with this Civic Club and has donated time, effort and kokua in any manner to assist the Civic Club may become an honorary member by two-thirds (2/3) vote of the General membership. However, such member shall not be required to pay any Civic Club dues, have any voting privileges, or hold any office.
The Friends of Kūkaniloko... Any Hawaiian or non-Hawaiian person who is not a member of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Wahiawa but chooses to dedicate their time and efforts "to guard the kapu of Kūkaniloko because we love them for all time..." A written record of the names of The Friends of Kūkaniloko over the years is kept as a part of the HCCW Historian Collection.
