"welina me kealoha ... The Hawaiian Civic Club of Wahiawa (HCCW) would like to welcome you to enjoy our very first monthly newsletter. We'll keep you updated on our events and community activities so you can mark your calendars and join us whenever you and your ʻohana are able to."
Hoʻopuka mua Mei 2k9
This was the first entry to our "Hawaiian Civic Club of Wahiawā...ʻAnoʻai" newsletter published in May of 2009. Documenting the activities and services we do in Wahiawā and our surrounding communities continues until present day. Articles detail our maintenance and care of Kūkaniloko Birthstones State Monument with coverage of our monthly Kūkaniloko 3rd Saturday Community Clean-up days and the families who come to participate.
HCCW acknowledges all Immersion and Charter Schools, Public and Private Elementary and Middle School, High School, University, and College students. We are here to educate kanaka and malahini alike who come for our Piko Listening Journey. Through our moʻ olelo - traditional comprehension - we share the science of Nā Pōhaku Hānau O Kukaniloko and the history of the 36,000 acres of Puʻuhonua Kūkaniloko, Kalana Līhu‘e, Wahiawā, Halemanao...
HCCW supports nā hālau hula who come from Hawaiʻi Islands, the Continent of America and from many foreign countries. They come to present hoʻ okupu, oli, hula, and to hear our moʻolelo. Activities of special events during the year such as the winter and summer solstices and the spring and fall equinoxes are photographed and recorded. Our Community Outreach programs and resident participation are also noted. Mahalo for your support!
We continue our commitment as the Hawaiian Civic Club of Wahiawā
